Brittany & Chad

Dear Birth Mom,
We are so honored to be meeting you here. Reading through profile books cannot be an easy task, and we are sincerely grateful for the time you are taking in getting to know us and hopefully finding the perfect match for you and your sweet baby.
First off, we want to acknowledge how much anxiety you must be feeling right now, and we want to assure you that we are here for you every step of the way. You are incredibly strong and brave.
While it’s hard to condense our lives into one book and put our personalities onto paper, our #1 goal is to give you a true and real-life look into our lives. We are more than happy to share more information you may be missing and answer any questions you may have.
This journey is something we have been talking about for years, and we are ready and excited to move forward. If you feel a connection to us, we are ready to walk down this path with you.
All our love,
Brittany & Chad

Our Adoption Story & Promise to You
Since we first met ten years ago, adoption has always been on our minds. When we started dating and talking about our future, growing our family through adoption was just what kept coming up over and over again. Brittany’s cousin was adopted as a newborn, and our close family friend adopted her four children. Chad’s aunt was also adopted as a newborn. So, as you can see, this has really been a part of our lives for as long as we can remember. We explored adopting an older child, but we really didn’t want to miss out on experiencing the infant stages – we are definitely on the same page and are prepared for the sleepless nights ahead!
We plan to raise your baby with a combination of how we were both raised, and adjusting as we go along. Learning their personality and how to nurture them with love and support is our priority, and we promise to seek help from others when we need it. Growing up, we both were in many extracurricular activities, and we hope your child finds joy in some as well. We are sports fans (we love hockey, baseball, rugby, and skiing), and Brittany also grew up involved in theater, dance, music, and the arts, so we will always make sure they have a space in their lives to be creative. Chad grew up spending a lot of time in nature and hopes to pass on his knowledge and love for the outdoors. We want your child to have every opportunity to figure out what they enjoy, so we won’t hold them back from trying different activities and being true to themselves. And when it comes to education, we will make sure that they are in the right environment, one where they can really thrive.
Most of all, we promise to raise your child in a home and family filled with unconditional love. We will be there through life’s ups and downs and promise that your child will always be our top priority.

About Us
Believe it or not, we met in middle school. Chad was in 7th grade, and Brittany was in 8th. On Valentine’s Day, he went up to Brittany and gave her a bouquet of flowers and asked if she wanted to be his girlfriend. She said yes, and they dated for about a month, you know how middle school relationships go, lol.
Years later, Chad commented on one of Britt’s Facebook statuses, and eventually, after some chatting, Brittany asked Chad out! We got married 5 years later in North Carolina, during COVID. We had a LOT of heartbreak and bad luck, including losing Chad’s grandmother the night before our wedding. But in choosing to be surrounded by love, we ended up having a beautiful day with 38 of the most important people in our lives, right on the beach. We’ve never felt more loved than we did that night.
We are very different people and grew up in very different worlds, but somehow, we are truly best friends. We hate to say that because it’s cheesy, but it’s also the truth. We laugh together, gossip together, grocery shop together, go to the movies together, tease each other, etc. As a couple, we really love hanging out with our friends – we get together for no reason, but just to have dinner and play some board games. We like to keep it casual! We started an annual Friendsgiving party last year, where you had to come dressed as a character from any Will Ferrell movie. This year will probably be Adam Sandler themed, as it was highly requested for next year’s theme!
Sometimes we feel like a part of us never really grew up, and we still love doing things we did as kids. We love going to the fair, opening night of movies, theme parks, camping, and live sports. Brittany loves the beach and would live in the Outer Banks if she could, while Chad is more of a mountain guy. We can’t wait to have a child to share these places with and take along with us for the fun and adventure!

About Brittany
Hi! My parents, brother, and most of my friends call me Bee or Britt. I grew up in a suburban neighborhood and lived in the same house my whole life. My house was my safe space, and to this day, I get really uncomfortable when my parents start talking about downsizing and selling it, lol. I will never stop reminiscing about my childhood, and I often get emotional thinking about it because it was so special to me. We played outside all the time. There were dozens of kids in my neighborhood, and we were all friends. I am still friends with a few of them today. We did everything from catching frogs at the frog pond to drawing what we called chalk city down our street. We rode our scooters and bikes to each other’s houses to go swimming and played manhunt outside at night. I could not have asked for a better childhood. I truly believe growing up surrounded by friends who became my family shaped who I am as an adult. I so desperately want to give a childhood similar to mine to your child.
When I was in second grade, I was in my first musical, and I was hooked from that moment. I continued to perform any chance I got until I went to college. I started skiing at five, and my brother, father, and I are still very involved in it. Winter is my favorite season, and skiing is just one of the many reasons. I also did dance, played rugby, and took voice lessons. During college, I had some really incredible internships, including working in Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, working for a high-end designer’s marketing and events department, and managing the finish line suites at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby. I graduated with a degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. While volunteering for a cat rescue at a pet store, I ended up working in their grooming salon as a bather. I eventually learned how to groom and ten years later, I have my own business now. I’ve become so busy that I had to stop taking new clients just one year after opening. I’ve been doing this for four years now, and I love my job. I also put my degree to use and work part-time from home as a travel agent.
In my spare time, I love to read and belong to two book clubs. My favorite genres are romcoms, sports romcoms, and fantasy. I also really enjoyed all of the Star Wars books! On the weekends, you will find me working out, gardening, at the beach, swimming (I’d stay in the pool all day if you let me, I’m a fish!), traveling, and spending time with my family and friends. Nothing beats a movie night at home though! My brother and I love movies and can have full conversations in movie quotes, which annoys literally everybody around us! My favorite place in the whole world is North Carolina, and I visit at least once a year, either to my parents’ rental home in the Outer Banks or my best friend’s house in Winston-Salem. She and I met in College in Charlotte, NC. She can’t wait to be an auntie!
I also am a HUGE animal lover and will greet each one I see, from deer to dogs to snakes. I hope to pass this love for all creatures big and small (okay, maybe not spiders) onto a little one!
About Chad
Did Brittany tell you her brother’s name is also Chad? And his wife’s name is Nicole, which is also Brittany’s middle name? Weird, right? Anyway, like Brittany, I also grew up in the same house my whole life. It was a farmhouse with lots of animals, inside and outside. My sisters and I did 4H, so we had everything from bunnies to pigs that we would show at the fair. We had lots of dogs and cats too. After high school, I attended trade school at Universal Technical Institute and completed their 45-week Diesel Technology program. I now work for Amtrak as a mechanic, where I fix the machines that are used to repair the tracks.
I played baseball for a few years and also wrestled, which I really enjoyed. I participated in scouts and am proud to say I earned the rank of Eagle Scout. That is where I learned amazing life skills, and I still make time to help out when I can at fundraisers and meetups. As for hobbies, I love to work on cars, visit my best friend in Maine, hunt, work on projects with my dad, and work on the farm on Sundays. I have been working at the farm since I was 17, and it’s my favorite place to clear my head and let loose a little. I met Ed, who is my boss at the farm, at welding school. I gained a passion for welding, and while my career took a different path, I still enjoy it when I get to use my skills at the farm and at work.
My favorite thing to do every year is the demolition derby at the county fair. I’ve been doing it since I was old enough to, and some years, even have multiple cars. Since we started dating, Brittany has been painting my car. She comes up with a different theme each year and goes for it. I had so many friends come watch and support me at last year’s event, and everyone had a blast.
Since being with Brittany, I have been traveling a lot more. While I admit that I enjoy the comforts of home, I love it once I’m there. I really enjoyed our honeymoon to Alaska, Ireland for Brittany’s brother’s wedding, and the river cruise we took up the Danube in Europe with her family. I hope to see more of the United States next, but my bucket list locations are Australia and England.
I can’t wait to be able to bring your child to the farm and teach them important life skills and work on cars with them. I’ve always wanted kids, and I am excited to start this chapter of our lives.
Our Home
In 2018, we bought 24 beautiful acres in upstate NY where we both grew up. In 2020, we started building our home, and in 2021, we moved in. Our home is located in the same school district we both attended, which was voted #1 best school district again this year in the Capital Region. The amazing schools in our area are just one of the many reasons this is where we want to raise a family.
We have so many hopes and dreams for this property and are slowly making those dreams a reality. This spring, we added raised beds, redid the landscaping out front, and added a duck coop with a huge aviary attached for them to explore and swim! We have 10 duckies who are also spoiled. Brittany is currently trying her hand at gardening fruits and veggies, so far, she has successfully grown 2 strawberries, haha. She is, however, a great flower gardener. Her lavender patch has 30 bushes, and it’s her favorite thing she grows. Chad now has a coverall garage and shed out back where he can work on side jobs and his projects. He has a 1980s pickup truck out there that he hopes to restore someday soon.
Around the back of the house, we have a large fenced-in yard. You can also find the entrance to Brittany’s grooming salon back at our walk-out basement. Downstairs we have an open concept living space with a laundry room and an office for Brittany’s huge book collection, Star Wars memorabilia and art, book merch, and a huge comfy reading chair. Upstairs, we have 3 bedrooms with beautiful views of the woods all the way around the house and two bathrooms. Aside from the salon, the basement also has a space where Chad hopes to finish his man cave, and also a movie room/playroom with show, concert, and Broadway posters on the wall. The attached garage was made into a full gym with art, concert, sports, and movie posters on the walls. Can you tell we like merch? And last but not least, our favorite space in the house is our screened-in porch off the kitchen. It’s a second-story cozy porch with two couches, a small table, wind chimes, and pretty lights at night. We call it the kitty porch because the girls would live out there if we let them! We have cat grass and catnip plants for them out there as well. You can often find Brittany out there after work reading and listening to Jimmy Buffett (or napping).
Our People

We are both very close with our families, including extended family. Chad is the youngest of three, with two older sisters. On his side, we have five nieces and nephews who we see often. Brittany has a brother 22 months younger than her, and has only a doggie nephew so far, haha. We are so lucky that our parents are all here and play an active role in our lives, as well as two of Brittany’s grandparents. Chad’s entire immediate family lives in the same local area as us, so we see each other often. Brittany’s parents also live very close by to us. Her brother and his wife live in CT, while her extended family is only 2 hours away in central NY. We all love spending time together.
We have a really amazing friend group as well. Our friends all mix in well with our families anytime we host a party. We all love to laugh a lot, we make lots of jokes, are sarcastic, go on vacations together, and have game nights while their kids all play together. We consider many of them family and have known some since early childhood.
Our family and friends are over the moon excited for us to become parents through adoption. We are pretty much the last of our friends to have children, so they all can’t wait for more babies to add to the friend group. We hope for all of them to grow up as friends like we did.
The Girls
Elsa and Chloe are our favorite little love bugs. Brittany started fostering/volunteering for a cat rescue during college and continued for about 8 years. Along the way, she met her late dog Roxie (14), and our cats, Elsa (currently 12), and then Chloe (currently 13). She did not have any pets growing up, so now she’s on overload loving them, and lost a piece of herself when Roxie passed. The kitties are extremely spoiled but are very well-behaved, laid-back cats who love to be around us and our family. Both cats regularly visit a holistic vet and receive acupuncture, chiropractic work, supplements, and anything else they may need at the time. Elsa is our special needs girl, and after years of traditional medicine for her, Brittany decided it was time to try something else to help. She has become a whole new cat since becoming a patient there.
Travel & Exploring
Our shared love of travel has grown over time. Exploring around new places never gets old, whether it’s across the ocean or close by to home. We are excited to travel one day as a family of three!

Holidays & Traditions
Brittany will use any excuse to decorate. Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, 4th of July, doesn’t matter; she has the decorations for it! Her mom and Grandmother were and still are the same way. Christmas is her favorite, though; she loves to collect old Christmas decorations. She recently added a huge 1993 Christmas Village from an estate sale, which she displays on top of the kitchen cabinets every holiday season. Every Christmas Eve since she was a kid, Brittany’s parents have hosted a dinner with their neighbors who they have stayed close with all these years. It’s her favorite day of the whole year.
Her family also has a cookie-making day at her parents’ lake house in the Adirondacks. We bake everything from holiday-shaped sugar cookies to our family’s Italian cookie recipes. We make a gingerbread house from scratch every year and decorate it to eat on Christmas Eve. After cookies, we all head into the village for the Christmas parade. We finish the evening with dinner at home with everyone.
Chad’s favorite holiday is the 4th of July. He loves being at the lake with family and friends while enjoying the fireworks at night. We love walking into town to watch the parade, getting ice cream, and grabbing some candy at the 5 and dime.
Chad also enjoys going camping every summer with his father, two friends, and their dad. They met at Boy Scouts and this has been a yearly tradition since they were kids. They all spent years working towards their Eagle Scout badge and are very proud of it.
We love to make birthdays special. The birthday person gets to pick a restaurant for dinner, and we finish at home with dessert. As a kid, Brittany often asked to push her April birthday party to summer so she could have a pool party with friends from school.
Since we’ve been married, we make a big deal about going to support Chad every year at the demolition derby. Some of Brittany’s family even come from Syracuse to watch.
Another new tradition is that we’ve purchased season tickets to our local baseball team every summer for the last 3 years. We love unwinding after work and watching the game with each other.
We can’t wait to carry on these traditions and create new ones as a family of three!

While our lives may seem busy and full, we will really only be complete when we can be called Mom and Dad. We cannot wait to welcome your child into our world (Disney adventures and all!) and explore a whole new side of life with them. We would love to keep the lines of communication open with you (if that is what you want) and promise to honor your culture and your love for them every day. And if you’re not comfortable with communication, that’s okay too – we want to respect your wishes and are open to walking this winding path with you. Your child will be so incredibly loved by so many people in our lives, family, and friends – they all cannot wait for us to be parents.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and learn about us. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you’d like any other information from us.
All our love,
Brittany & Chad
