Tamara
Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me through these pages. I can only imagine the strength and courage it takes to make the choices you are facing right now, and I want you to know how deeply I respect you for them.
As you read my story, my hope is that you feel connected to the woman I am and the mother I dream of being. I would never want to pretend to fully understand everything you are going through, but I do want you to know that I see your bravery, and I am grateful for the chance to connect with you in this way.
I hope we can continue on this journey together.
With much love and gratitude,
Tamara

My Adoption Story
I always knew I wanted to be a mom. Honestly, when I was younger, I wanted to have four kids. I come from humble beginnings – my mom was a single mother, and I saw her struggle, so I also knew that I wanted to make sure I was settled financially before I welcomed a baby into my life. I continued my education while working full-time, and I have had a career with the United Nations for the past 25 years. My work has given me the opportunity to see and experience life in many incredible and diverse countries around the world, and I believe so much of this has shaped who I am today.
Though I have loved this part of my life, on the flip side, all this moving around has also made it much more challenging to find a partner and maintain a steady relationship with someone. But this has not dimmed my desire to become a mother. I did try some fertility treatments, but was met with many heartbreaking failures, including pregnancy losses.
I feel like my life is in a really sweet and settled spot. I have a nice career, I own my home (in a wonderful part of New York), and I am financially secure. But all I really want is to be a mom. I truly feel that that is the missing piece of the puzzle in my life. I have been thinking about growing my family through adoption for quite a long time, and there is no doubt in my mind that I am on the right path now.

My Promise to You
I am looking forward to rediscovering the world through the innocent eyes of your child and just having fun with them. I am definitely not perfect, but I promise you that I will do my utmost to be the best mommy to your baby. I know it probably sounds silly, but I am excited about and look forward to dressing alike, making funny faces, cooking and traveling together, and making beautiful memories and new family traditions together. As a mother, I know I will be both loving and firm. I believe in setting boundaries and being consistent, but I also want your child to feel completely safe in coming to me with anything, whether it’s a worry, a dream, or just something funny that happened during their day. My hope is to create a home where honesty, openness, and trust are the foundation, and where we love unconditionally.
I never want you to feel pressure in your adoption plan, but please know that I would be honored to have an open adoption with you. I believe this is a journey for both of us, so if there is a way for us to walk this path together, that would fill my heart. I have so much love to give and want to provide your child with a safe, nurturing, and supportive home.
About Me
So my name is Tamara! I would describe myself as kind and caring, but also a little stubborn, which really just makes me determined – I don’t give up easily when I set my mind to something. I work as a Human Resources Officer with the United Nations, and I take care of Recruitment and Outreach activities. My career has given me the chance to connect with people from all over the world, and it has taught me the importance of empathy, fairness, and open and honest communication.
I speak several languages. In addition to English, I am also fluent in Dutch and French, as these were the languages my mom raised me with. I would love to share these with your child as well.
Outside of work, I am very active. I walk every day and go to the gym to lift weights. As a woman, being strong is important to me. I am actually so passionate about working out that I converted my garage into a gym for those days when I don’t feel like leaving the house. Fitness is important to me, not just for health but also for balance and energy. I’m also a foodie – I love trying new dishes and flavors. I don’t think I have a favorite food, but I do LOVE pasta, steak, seafood, and basically all the desserts – cake, ice cream, cookies, you name it! I definitely have a sweet tooth 🙂 For me, it’s all about enjoying life while also taking care of myself and those around me.
My friends and family would probably describe me as warm, loyal, and determined. They often say I’m the one who brings people together, whether it’s through organizing a trip, sharing a meal, or simply listening when someone needs support. They know I’m strong-willed, but they also know that my stubbornness comes from a place of wanting to do what’s right and to care deeply for the people around me.
I have never felt more ready to become a mom, and I am certain that adoption is the right way for me to build my family. Your baby will always be my #1 priority – in my life and in my heart, no matter what.
Home Sweet Home
I live in a cozy three-bedroom, three-bathroom home in Westchester, New York. It’s in a quiet, residential, and diverse neighborhood surrounded by beautiful parks, which makes it very family-friendly and welcoming.
My home is my sanctuary, as it’s a place where I can relax and recharge after a long day. It’s warm, comfortable, and filled with things that make me feel at ease. I am excited for your child to feel the same about our home and to allow them the creative ability to create their own little sanctuary one day, along with me.
The neighborhood itself offers so much: parks for walking and playing, local shops, and restaurants. It’s the kind of place where I can imagine raising your child with great comfort and opportunities. It is with you and your child in mind that I decided to buy my home here.
My Loved Ones
Although my mother lives in Málaga, in the South of Spain, she is a very active and present part of my life. She visits me regularly in New York and typically stays for up to three months at a time. We share a close and loving relationship, and she is overjoyed at the thought of becoming a grandmother. She is eager to be involved, to nurture, to help, and to build a special bond with your child. Even when she is in Spain, we remain closely connected and call each other on WhatsApp several times a day. I really value the relationship I have with my mom and am so grateful to have her in my life.
I am also blessed with a strong and supportive community of friends. Some have been in my life since I first moved to New York over twenty years ago, and others are dear friendships formed in more recent years. They are like family to me. They are kind, dependable, and genuinely excited about the possibility of welcoming a child into my life. Your child will grow up surrounded by people who are loving, engaged, and ready to celebrate milestones, offer support, and create lasting memories together.
While my immediate family may not live next door, your child will be embraced by a close-knit, intentional, and deeply caring village. I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by so many helping hands who are ready to love your baby.
Adventures
Through my work, I have had the opportunity to visit many places around the world. While I love being settled at home in New York now, getting to be a part of different cultures and really experience such diversity has been an important part of my life. I have visited Haiti, South Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Istanbul, Paris, Geneva, and many cities across the USA.
I am not traveling for work these days, but I still feel that travel is a privilege. I hope to share this with your child one day and be able to live these experiences through their eyes.
Holidays & Traditions
Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year. I have so many wonderful childhood memories tied to the holiday, and it has always been a season that brings me joy and comfort. I go to church for Christmas, and I love the feeling of community and celebration that comes with it. Please don’t judge me, but this year I started decorating my house in early November. With so much darkness in the world right now, I felt like we all needed something to brighten things up. Putting up the lights and decorations early made my home feel warm, festive, and full of hope.
Birthdays are also important to me, and to celebrate, I usually try to plan a trip with my loved ones. This year I decided to visit Tanzania, and it was amazing! We did a safari, so I was one with nature, and since I’m a beach bum, I also went to Zanzibar, which has amazing white sandy beaches and clear blue water!
I look forward to creating new traditions with your child, whether it’s decorating cookies together, singing Christmas songs, or just enjoying quiet family moments. One thing I’m super excited about is Mother’s Day. I’m not entirely sure yet how I’ll celebrate it, but I know it will be a very special day in honor of both you and me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and get to know me a little better. I can only imagine the strength it takes to walk the path you are on, and I want you to know how deeply I respect your courage and the love behind your choices.
Most of all, thank you for the beautiful gift that allows me to join this very special and exclusive group of motherhood. It is a gift beyond words, and I will honor it every day by giving your child a home filled with love, safety, and joy.
With love and gratitude,
Tamara
